Our Process for Custom Closet Design and Installation:

At Design + Main we strive for the “perfect fit” when it comes to the design and installation of your new custom closets, pantries, garages, home offices and even craft rooms.

We make sure you get what you envisioned when you called us.

The first step is to meet one-on-one and show you ways to organize and declutter as well as make that walk-in closet a highlight of your day!

Our free initial consultation takes place at your home and typically takes an hour, but we can spend more time with you if needed.

We measure your spaces, look at your inventory and show you sample materials.

We listen to your wants, your budget and create a wishlist based on our conversation.

What we discussed during the initial consultation goes back to our Design Centre and in the hands of our Professional Interior Designers.

Our Interior Designers create a layout and include details like the finish, rods, handles, lights and any other fun accessories you like.

The next step is seeing your closet in our 3D rendering system. That allows us time to discuss the good and the, “Let’s change that,” bits until we are able to come up with exactly what you envisioned, while adhering to your budget.

The next step is production. The product is constructed with the finest materials and latest technology at our manufacturing centre based in Canada. Our unique laser edge banding, eco-friendly panels and dovetail undermount drawers are used to create your one-of-a-kind closet. And to top it off, our products are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

The installation is the reward you have been waiting for. Our Installers are trained to be very mindful of your home and care for it like it’s their own. Paddings, protective coverings, clean shoes or covers play an important part in ensuring your home is cared for. They create your vision, with every aspect coming together seamlessly. When the project is done, it’s impeccably clean and ready to use!

The last step is a visit by your Designer to go over the completed project and discuss any last-minute changes or add-ons.

Laser Edge Banding: is water-resistant and uses laser adhesive versus glue and features no seams on edges. All of this makes for a superior product and finish over our competitors. It also means a longer life span as the product doesn’t “come unglued” after years of exposure and use.

Dovetail Undermounted Drawer Boxes with soft close: 5/8” thick prefinished lacquered drawer boxes with craftsman style, dovetail construction are a superior product over our competitor’s melamine sub-standard deliveries. The difference in quality and finish is obvious.

Inserts and Decorative Wall Coverings: over 75 varieties from UV Embossed decorative inserts, Italian Glass and Leather inserts, all designed to add that unique look. A designer’s dream of choices!

Environmentally Conscious: our panels are 100% recycled or recovered wood fibre. Our panels also meet ANSI standards by being Carb2 Compliant, FSC certified, NAF (No Added Formaldehyde) and NAU (No Added Urea) products. This is important for products being installed in your home.

Our Team

Designer

Christina Hartman, D.I.D., is an Interior Designer with over seven years of experience designing interiors of high-end homes in the Okanagan Valley. She hears your wants and needs and loves to learn about your style. She uses her experience and skills to design your closet, storage area or room. We don’t use our installers or entrepreneurs to design your closets. We use a certified designer.

Delivery and Follow-up

Robert Hartman has over 20 year’s experience in office equipment service and sales and comes from one of the most demanding industries for response and delivery times and pre and post sales communication. He brings a unique and awesome delivery and installation team to meet and exceed expectations.
